MapleStory Ludibrium Quest Guide

Level 35-51

It's time to Ludibrium PQ (LPQ).

Your party needs to include a Magician with Teleport, a Bandit or Assassin with Dark Sight, and an Assassin with maxed Keen Eyes or a Crossbowman with maxed Eye of the Amazon. A Cleric is highly recommended. All-Cure potions are also highly recommended, maplestory mesos as the battle with Alishar will occasionally leave your skills locked or your character being inflicted with the darkness effect.

To be a leader you need an empty channel (a channel that is not full with a party already doing the party quest) or track. A track is where you write into your text bar /find username. This will allow you to track the stage of the party inside doing the PQ and will be ready to click to get in when they're at the last stage.

Stage 1:

Whatever you do, don't click on to Sgt. Anderson. He brings you out and there are no questions to answer for how many passes you need like in KPQ. Just kill all the rats and give the passes to the leader to clear.

Once cleared only 1 person who said they'll go into the next stage first goes in, if that's not you, don't go until he says clear. (Pic below)

Stage 2:

Hit the blue boxes and collect the passes. Do not leave passes if not they'll disappear. Give the passes to the leader. (Pic below)

Stage 3:

Kill the Bloctopus and collect the passes, give them to the leader.

(Pic below)

Stage 4:

If you're a mage, go to one of the top portals, if you're anything else you go to the bottom 2 portals that you can go into. One of those portals has 2 monsters in them. Be sure to mark your portal before you enter. Don't enter marked portals unless they need help and don't forget to mark. (Pic below)

Stage 5:

Go into a portal and hit the blue boxes for the passes. Collect them and give them to the leader. Everyone has to do 1 portal. If you're a Mage you can do the very top portal and if you're a thief, you can do the portal under the Golems. Never jump into the Golems without Dark Sight. They'll kill you instantly. Mark before you go into a portal. You need not mark for the thief portal. Everyone will be racing for mage and thief because they are the easiest. (Pic belowt)

Stage 6:

Go up the pink blocks this is the combo you step on to the pink blocks and press up: 133 221 333 123 111. (Pic below)

Stage 7:

An Assassin or Bowman will attack the rat on top to release the Rombards. The rest will kill them and give the passes to leader. (Pic below)

Stage 8:

Get onto the boxes and if you don't know how to do it, go on 1 or tell your party. You do the same method to try to get every combo the combos are:

Remember to slide trough boxes and not just jump on to the box because it's impossible.(Pic below)

Crack on the Wall: First an Assassin or Bowman attacks the rat and then Alishar is summoned. Kill it then give the keys to the leader. Then choose the brush or bonus.

Brush is when you go into bonus and someone leaves/gets expelled and then he rejoins the party so you can skip bonus while clearing Determine to Adventure but you'll only get back into PQ - 80% of the time. Bonus is you do bonus and after 50 seconds you come out and try to go back into PQ, remember people can get into it while you're doing bonus in that 50 seconds unlike KPQ so it's only 30% chance but bonus gets you good equips. (Pic below)

Bonus: Attack the boxes for stuff. (Pic below)

Determine to Adventure:

Go up and take to Arturo, make sure you have at least 1 space in every category in your inventory. (Pic below)

Rewards of PQ and things you can get in Bonus.

MapleStory: Magician Guide 8-30

The following are all magician skill and stat builds for a first job magician.

Stat builds: Stat builds are much simpler than skill builds. The following are not in any particular order as they all work. Strength and Dexterity are never needed. Keep them at 4. Intelligence is your main attacking stat. The higher your intelligence, the higher damage you will hit with your spells. Luck adds to damage, but not nearly as much as intelligence. Luck is mainly added in order to equip armor and weapons.

Build A: Standard Build

Level 8: Intelligence: 48 Luck: 11

For every level from 9-30, put 4 points in Intelligence and 1 in Luck.

Why is this build good?

With this build, you will never be short on your luck requirements. You will be able to equip all your armor and weapons at the appropriate levels while still having a lot of maplestory power leveling.

Build B: Luckless Build

Level 8-30: Put all stat points into Intelligence

Why is this build good?

Luckless magicians are more powerful than their normal luck counterparts. This comes at a cost. Because they cannot equip the appropriate armors for their levels, they suffer on defense and magical defense.

Skill Builds: Skill builds are much harder to create because there are so many more options. The following skills are the skills available to Magicians in the first job.

Improving Improving Mana Recovery: This is a passive skill that should be maxed in all builds. It raises the amount of Mana recovered every ten seconds. It saves money and potions. It has no prerequisite.

Improving Max Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase: This is another passive skill that should be maxed. It increases your max mana every time you level. By the end game, it gives more than three thousand extra mana compared to another end game magician who had not invested any points into it. It has a prerequisite of five points in Improving Improving Mana Recovery.

Magic Guard: This is an active skill that is essential as you level as a magician. When you are hit by a monster, and magic guard is activated, part of the damage hits your mana, and part hits your hit points. This allows a magician to take on the toughest monsters in the game. It has no prerequisite.

Magic Armor: This is the one of the only skills that a magician does not need to max. It adds a set amount of physical defense. Though it it better than Magic Guard during the first job, its use is very limited. When you are facing a monster that hits for thousands of damage, forty physical defense is useless. It has a prerequisite of three points in Magic Guard.

Energy Bolt: This is one of two magic attacks that you will receive as a Magician. It sends a ball of energy at the enemy. It has no prerequisite.

Magic Claw: This is the other magic attack Magicians receive. It attacks twice. It's prerequisite is one skill point invested in Energy Bolt.

Energy Bolt vs. Magic Claw

There are many differences between Energy Bolt and Magic Claw:

Power: Magic Claw hits with two hits of 40 Spell Attack each. Energy Bolt hits once wth fifty five power. However, Magic defense is factored in twice with magic claw and only once with Energy Bolt.

Cost: Energy Bolt uses six less Mana than Magic Claw. However, Magic Claw has a better Damage to Cost ratio. Also, Energy Bolt users will have an extra skill point.

Accessibility: Magic Claw goes through walls. Energy Bolt doesn't. Magic Claw also has slightly longer range. They have very similiar casting times.

The Verdict: Magic Claw is the preferred route to go, but Energy Bolt is still a viable option if you want to be unique.

Skill Build: Magic Claw and Energy Bolt are interchangeable.

Level 8: +1 Energy Bolt

Level 9: +3 Improving Improving Mana Recovery

Level 10: +2 Improving Improving Mana Recovery +1 Improving Max Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 11: +3 Improving Max Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 29: +3 Magic Guard

Level 30: +3 Magic Guard

Total: 16 Improving Improving Mana Recovery, 10 Improving Max Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase, 20 Magic Guard, 1 Energy Bolt, 20 Magic Claw

This build provides the most mana. It maxes out the most important attacks and buffs. The following are variations on the skill build:

Variation A: Max Mana

Level 8: +1 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 9: +3 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 10: +1 Improving Mana Recovery +2 Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 11: +3 Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 12: +3 Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 13: +2 Improving Max Improving Max Mana Increase +1 Energy Bolt

Level 14-30: Revert back to the normal skill build

This variation adds even more max mana, maplestory mesos ,but it is a very hard build. Because you lack a magic attack for five levels, leveling will be tough. However, with Henesys Party Quest (Guide Coming Soon), the five levels will shoot by.

Variation B: Early Damage

Level 8: +1 Energy Bolt

Level 9: +3 Magic Claw

Level 10: +3 Magic Claw

Level 11: +3 Magic Claw

Level 12: +3 Magic Claw

Level 13: +3 Magic Claw

Level 15: +2 Magic Claw +1 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 16: +3 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 17: +1 Improving Mana Recovery +2 Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 18: +3 Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 19: +3 Improving Max Mana Increase

Level 20: +2 Improving Max Mana Increase +1 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 21: +3 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 22: +3 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 23: +3 Improving Mana Recovery

Level 24: +1 Improving Mana Recovery +2 Magic Guard

Level 25-30: Revert back to standard build.

This variation is for the impatient players. It give the short term advantage of a good attack in exchange for the long term loss of Mana.

Chief Bandit routine at Vikings

I was surprised that some higher level CBs still train at maps other than , where pot usage is much higher because the lack of sniper spots where you can hit your target without being hit. Viking map is a perfect place for a CB to solo as soon as they have at least 1 MG and 1-3 in meso explosion, 18 thieves and at least 10-20 in assaulter. With dockzz build that should be around level 85.

So I decided to make this map to show my routine soloing vikings as a CB, in the tradition of UVERworld, my ex-guild leader, who did something like that for ranged char parties at vikings.

I know that a lot of CB already know this routine but I hope it will help future CBs to break away from expensive training spots like dual pirates or save them the boredom of training at zombies beyond level 85. If you have any questions, comments, doubts etc. post them here and I'll try to answer them as good as I can.

Thing you should consider:

  • It will cost you up to 1 mill of pots, MG costs, dropping mesos etc. to gain 20-30% for level 85-90 depending on how cautious you are.
  • You can gain around 10-15% minimum per hour there, starting at level 85 up to early 9x.
  • Never ever take down your maple story mesos guard. Recast it before every major action in that map.
  • Buy some ice cream pops for emergencies, just in case you let down your meso guard because you wont heal fast enough with unagis alone. Using supreme hot dogs instead of unagis can save you some money. The damage taken with MG on is ~800, so you won't waste 200 healed HP with unagis when using hot dogs after a hit.
  • Buy some dexterity pills. You will need all additional avoid you can get while herding mobs of vikings because thats the only time, when vikings can hit you hard and multiple times.
  • Don't even try taking one map all for yourself and "CC PLZ" other people training there if you are training alone. This map is huge, suitable for a full party. Partying or sharing this map with around 2-3 people speeds up respawn a lot speeding up training for you.

Have fun and good luck getting some nice drops from those baddies. ^^

How to drop mesos fast:

1) Open your inventory menu

2) Click on the coin icon to open the input meso menu

3) Drag the OK buttom of your input meso menu over the coin icon of your inventory menu.

4) Always input the maximum input lenght, e.g for 1000 mesos input 0000001000 and copy & paste it

5) CTRL+V -> Click -> CTRL+V -> Click ... to drop bags of mesos without moving your mouse

How to read the map:

A - spot where you can snipe vikings with assaulter

T - spot where you can kill a mob with thieves

ME - spot where you can herd mobs of vikings and OHKO them with 10 x 1000 / 14 x 700 / etc. (depending on your level of ME) bags of mesos with meso explosion

SB - spot where you can snipe vikings with savage blow

All plattforms have a number that I will refer to. Plattforms that are not very suitable for bandits will have a [bad] notice. Partying or sharing this map with chars that can clear those spots for you will save you a lot of money and speed up training.

Plattform 1:

If there are at least 4 vikings, herd them to either the right or left and mob them with thieves. Single vikings can be taken out using assaulter after luring them down to the plattform.

Plattform 2 [bad] :

If you are alone, wait until there are at least 4 vikings, herd them and then take them out using ME.

Plattform 3:

Wait for at least a mob of 4-6 vikings, herd them and take them out with ME. If you are really cheap and want to save pots and MG costs use the assaulter spot to the right, jump and assaulter to land on the red middle plattform. Use the rope and thieves to keep viking mobs on 3 to the right side where you can snipe them with assaulter.

Plattform 4:

Lure vikings down to the plattform and take them out using assaulter. Mobs of 4 or more vikings can be lured to the right side and then mob them with thieves.

Plattform 5:

Wait for at least a mob of 4 vikings, herd them and take them out with ME. Kill single vikings with assaulter using those two green steps.

Plattform 6:

Lure single vikings to the left plattform, stand where they stop shooting at you and take them out with SB. Herd 4 or more vikings to the same spot and mob them with thieves.

Plattform 7:

Lure vikings down to the plattform to the right and take them out using assaulter.

Plattform 8:

Lure them to the left, stand on the 2nd block from the top where they cant hit you and take vikings out using savage blow. Here is a screenshot to show you what to do if you have trouble getting on that spot.

1) Jump on that red block on the right

2) Then walk down to the left side to land on your sniper spot

Plattform 9 [bad] :

Herd at least 4 vikings and take them out with ME.

Bottom:

Herd all vikings using thieves and assaulter while moving to the left side. Take out up to 6 vikings with ME. If there are more than 6 of them, move from rope to rope, herding them and take them out with ME.

Some notice about how to hand those [bad] 2 and 6 plattforms

The best way to clear them is to go into darksight and move into position to drop mesos. Drop your meso bags, then cancel darksight (don't forget to recast haste if you don't have max darksight), jump down and start using thieves to herd them while moving to the left and get back on the red middle plattform. Wait for them to gather below you and then jump back down to the right and get back into position where you dropped your meso bags. Wait for them to return to your meso pile and then jump down to blow them up. It may take a bit longer but usually you get only hit 2-3 times.

Its easier than dropping maplestory mesos, jumping down to herd them and then try to get into position right away while they are pissed and all around you.

Every question, feedback, comment etc. can be mailed. Put "MapleStory Guide" in the Subject, so I can pick out the mails easily. Thanks! Also add where you found the guide, if possible, so I know what places attract the mainstream.
Don't mail me with:
* Stuff that is covered in this FAQ

* Complaining how bad the game is according to you

* If your PC will run MapleStory
If I get any of these mails, I'll ignore them, no matter how harsh it sounds.
Do mail me with:
* Stuff that is not covered in this FAQ

* Comment, questions, feedback and fan mail

* Asking if you can put this guide on your site
I'm not related to Wizet. This FAQ has been made for fun, not to make any maplestory mesos out of it. Don't use this FAQ on your site/magazine etc. without my permission. Copyright (c) 2004 by Grawl. I keep my own list of sites that are allowed to publish this guide. If the site isn't in the list, I'll go after it and get it removed one way or another.

===========================================================
Introduction & Getting Started [MS.02.01]
===========================================================
So, the Christmas event started. This includes a new town, new items and whatnot. In this guide, I'll list it for you.
If you want to contact me, I'm mostly on Channel 15, and go by the name Snowcat.
===========================================================
HappyVille [MS.03.01]
===========================================================
HappyVille is the town you most likely want to visit. It's a town covered with snow, and from here, you can decorate trees. To visit it, you'll need:
* 10 Squishy Liquid

* 10 Tree Branches

* 1000 Mesos
To get to HappyVille, you'll need to go to Ellinia, and lucky for you, you can get the items you need around Ellinia. Slimes will drop Squishy Liquid (it looks like a green... thing), and Stumps will drop Tree Branches. You need to find the money yourself, obviously.
Once you got the stuff, find a girl near the cab with the name Rooney. Talk to her, and give her the stuff. She'll teleport you to HappyVille.
You can talk to a few persons in HappyVille;

* Rupi - Talk to her, to get back to Ellinia. Watch out, you'll need to pay if you ever want to get back to HappyVille.

* Cliff - If you talk to him, he'll explain the concept of decorating.

* Rudi - Sell items, which you can use to decorate.

* Snowmen - Talk to one of them, and you can teleport to a tree. You can decorate that tree.
===========================================================
Decorating [MS.04.01]
===========================================================
Now, about decorating... There are two ways to get decorations;

* Buy them in HappyVille, for 100 Meso to 150 Meso (see other section of the guide).

* Be lucky, and a monster will drop one. Some things can't be bought, so you'll have to kill monsters to get the rare decoration items.
To decorate, talk to a snowman, and go to a tree. Now you are free to decorate the tree. Just drop the items. They won't disappear, and others can't pick them up. When you leave the area, by talking to the snowman, you'll take the items with you. Yes, too bad they won't stay there.
Note you can also uses ores, Omok pieces etc. to decorate. Pretty funny to put a pig head in there ;p
===========================================================
Christmas Items [MS.05.01]
===========================================================
You can find/buy various items during the Christmas period. I'll list them here. If I'm missing something, please mail me about it. Please note the items are arranged like this (for snowboards, see note down the list):
Name - Can be bought (yes/no) - Price to buy - Price to sell - Type
If I miss something, please mail me the full name, and how much it'll bring up when you sell it in a store, if possible.

Maple Story Magician guide

Beginner stat point distribution
The Mage's main stat is INT. This stat increases magic damage and defense. It also increases the amount of maplestory mesos you will get per level up. You'll be spending most of your stat points in here. LUK is the secondary stat. It raises availability and decreases the amount of EXP you lose when you die.

It doesn't matter what your INT and LUK are as long as you rolled at least STR and DEX as fives or lower. If you didn't get the stats you want click the little red dice next to your character at character creation. Now how to spend your stat points during levels is easy enough to understand. First you need to see that your LUK is 13 at level 10. Don't make it 13 any time before or after Level 10. Then you can spend all your stat points in LUK but other wise they all go into INT. This will allow you to wear most equipment (maybe not all on the level requirements) and since INT gives more maplestory, your maplestory levels will be quite high after a few levels. If you are feeling you are taking to much damage or just don't like your armor go ahead and spend some stat points into LUK on levels other than 15,20,etc (not recommenced)

Leveling Tips

LVL 1-8: Here you should still be on Maple Island the first island. Stay in the first few areas of the island and fight green and blue snails. Once you're at lvl 8 move on to Victoria Island by taking the Victoria form South Perry.

LVL 8-13: Start fighting in the training area one screen west of Heresy's is the bowman town. You want to stay on the bottom floor of the area and fight the snails you see. Use your Energy Bolt as often as possible and when maplestory runs out stand on the key on both side of the screen and recover.

LVL 13-18: Time to move up a floor in the training area. This floor is covered with Green Slimes. These will do about 6 damages to you if you haven't bought all the armor. These give 10 EXP a pop so things go buy pretty quickly.

LVL 18-20: Either stay on the slime Floor for a level or two more or move up to the Orange shroom floor. The orange shroom will give 15 EXP per kill but you will have to take about 3 shots to kill them which by now aren't a whole lot of maplestory but takes a while

LVL 21-30: To the Horny Mushroom tree. These guys will give you over .10% for the next few levels. Fight these guys all the way up to level 30

LVL 25-31: Do the PQ if you want too. Mages are the most useful character in the PQ and will be accepted into parties easier. If you don't feel like waiting for the PQ then just go level on Horny Mushrooms.

LVL 31-40: Either level on boars or fire boars there are a bunch of spots near Perion like the burning zone or the land of wild boars.

Maigician Guides

Introduction
"Studying ancient studies is their virtue, so high intelligence is a top priority. Since they spend all their time researching, they may not have much of strength or stamina, and they use staffs and wands as their main weapons. For armor, they prefer light ones like robes with minimal defense. They can't put on heavy armor." maplestory mesos

To use this guide, simply find the section you wish to view. Using the Table Of Contents, click Ctrl + F and enter what you are looking for. Also, you'll find many "What I did" parts throughout the guide to show you what I did on this part and maybe give you some ideas. So if you're wondering what it is and why it's there, now you know! Enjoy!

And I apologize in advance if your head starts to spin after reading a section since they tend to be very long. They do, however, contain lots of intructions and descriptions so I'm pretty sure it'll help. I've seperated them into paragraphs to try helping your head not hurt.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting Out
When you first log in and create your character, make sure you have these stats.

Str-4 or 5 (perfect stat:4)

Dex-4 or 5 (perfect stat:4)

Int-x

Luk-x

The Int and Luk don't really matter so long as you have 4 (or 5) as Str AND Dex. If you don't get these stats, click the little red die next to them to randomize them. Keep trying until you get the stats above. If you do get strength, just know that it will take many damage points from your intelligence. Think of the equation as a sacrifice. If you sacrifice time and strength now, you will gain time and damage later. But if you sacrifice inteligence now, you will see other mages are your level go crazy leveling and do massive damage while you are suffering. That's why if you know you will stick to a mage, don't get any dex, at all. Do not get dexterity. DO NOT GET DEXTERITY. However much I can stress on stats, dexterity is extremely useless. Once mages get magic, they don't need anything else. Dexterity is for aiming. Inteligence is aiming for magic users. I can not imagine a warrior cleric. I don't recommend it either.

After you have done that, remember to customize your key settings. This is usually the first thing I do because I find that the default key settings are rather difficult to use. Remember, NEVER GO THROUGH ANY OF THE PORTALS (except the one into the house on the second map)! Always talk to the people and do what they say because they are easy exp!!! After you talk to the last guy (who sends you into the first map with the monsters), then you can go through portals again. Note, this only applies for the maps with npcs without monsters. Towns do not count. xP

Put all your AP into Int if you want to have a high attack when you first become a mage. I would recommend staying at that first map and killing green snails and, occasionally, some blue snails also. That is the easiest way for mages to level in the beginning. Don't kill any shrooms or red snails for mages will most likely get hurt, and it's not worth the time. At level 5 or 6, go talk to Maria (which is about 3 maps away) and do her "quest" which requires you to go into Amherst and talk to Steven. Then you go back to Maria and she'll give you a headband or hat as a thanks for doing her task. Then, I'd go back to training at that first map, but that's really up to you.

You might really want to do Bigg's quest (which requires 10 orange mushroom tops and 30 blue snail shells), but I advise you not to do it for, as I have stated before, mages can't really kill orange mushies. After you reach level 7 or 8, head to the port, talk to Shane, and go to Victoria Island. This trip will cost you 150 mesos so make sure you have enough!

Keep in mind while you level that you need 20 Int and to be level 8 to become a mage. And (I can't say this enough) NEVER PUT ANY OF YOUR AP INTO STR OR DEX!!!!! (Or hp + mp since that's just wasting it, in my opinion)

(To become a Mage is on the next section)

What I did:

I got the perfect stat to start with, then customized my key settings (of course). I, obviously, talked to all the people and did what they said. Then I stayed at that first map until I reached level 6. Then, I helped Maria then went back to that first map to train until I reached level 8. During all those levels, I put ALL my AP into Int. Then, I went over to Victoria Island. (woo hoo?)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Becoming a Mage
So now you should be either level 7 or 8 and on Victoria Island. If you're level 7, I suggest you go to Thicket Around the Beach III (I think that's the one with green snails all over the bottom) and train to level 8. Then go to Ellinia. (If you have a lot of meso and time plus want scrolls to all the towns, then make a "road trip" and go get the scrolls now. After your job advancement, taxi/boat dude will cost a lot more.) When you get to Ellinia, go all the way up into the Magic Library and talk to Grendel the Really Old, the floating old mage who will ask if you want to become a magician. SAY YES!

You will get a boost in mp and one SP (Skill Point) when you first become a mage. I would really REALLY recommend you put that SP into Magic Bolt, which is the second to last skill on the list. Then, you start training, and all that good stuff is down there in another section. So basically.

WELCOME TO THE MAGE WORLD!

About the AP and the SP. You get 5 AP per level and 3 SP per level. Remember to spend them right when you get them because if you die, you lose all of them! (And it's just better to spend them right when you get them since they boost your attack, mp recovery, etc.) Always put AP into Int unless you're on level _0, _3, _5, or _8 (the "_" means "-insert number here-"). Then, you put some into Luk, depending on the next requirement. A SP build is in another section (the next one).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skill Build
Oh yay! I love skill building!!! Why? Because you get stronger and better attack with basically each SP. (Hehe)

Okay. I have 2 skill builds here. One which is what everybody ELSE calls "Perfect Skills" and the one which I call "Perfect Skills". Yes, there IS a difference! One makes you start and blah into MP first. And mine makes you blah into attack first! And don't worry. I have my reasons.

Everybody else's Perfect Skills

See the difference? Yea. You get less max MP, but you level a LOT faster and that'll help you get more MP and attack. So it's up to you! :]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Training
So this is what the hard part is! TRAINING!! (Also the most fustrating and annoying part, at times) I've made this nice list to show what a good place to hunt at what level is. How nice, huh? You can thank me later. ;]

Level.......Place

1-8

You're still on Maple Island here. :]

8-15

SLIME TREE!!! Or, of course, you can train with snails about 3 maps left of Henesys. That's a really good place also.

15-20

I suggest Pig Beach. That's basically the best place for that level. To get to Pig Beach, go to the 3-way road (the one between Lith, Kerning, and Henesys) and find this patch of yellow flowers and click UP. It'll take you to Hidden Street: Pig Beach.

In the 20s

Go to the Forest of Wisdom (2 maps outside Ellinia) to hunt Green Shrooms. This part you can forgo, but Green Shrooms drop pan lids, so I would go train there. :]

20-30

Horned Shrooms inside the tree about 4 maps away from Ellinia. It's right under the portal that you come in from (portal close to Ellinia). There are green and horned shrooms inside this tree, so it's a good training spot if you can 1-hit kill.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note from Angel4Blade:

Another good place for horned shrooms is the Ant Tunnel 1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

25-30

If you want, you can PQ. I would do this for the items, but since it's really crowded, it'll take a long time to get into the PQ itself. However, since you are a mage, you can get into a party REALLY easily.

30 onwards i guess so far as i've gotten :P

Boars and Fire Boars. Since you should be able to kill them quickly now (boars), this is the best training spot. Fire Boars is also a good place to train since they have pretty nice drops.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note from Angel4Blade:

At lv40, if you want to make some huge cash, you should go to Purple Plains 1(Amoria) and kill Sakura Cellions. They drop 300 mesos and a cellion tail which could be sold for 100 mesos minimum. Also, at these lvs, you can 1-2hit Ko Ligators, best spot to hunt them is in that swamp place in Kerning. They sometimes drop good stuff.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all I can get to since I'm only level 36 in Scania and level 15 or so in Windia (when I wrote this). There'll be more when I level up in Windia since that's where I play. :]

Then again, leveling is all up to you. The best technique for balancing where to level is experience and meso. Make the proper balance and you'll be rich and powerful. The key is to max out where you can go by damage. If you can kill a monster in one hit, then that should be a right place. You want to kill the strongest monsters in on hit so that the exp is high. But if you can kill a monster in two hits, the experience is lower and mesos is lower, but the you receive higher level items.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Contacting
Sorry that's all I could get done. I don't really know what else you would like. So I'll try to do more some other time, okay? Meanwhile, if you would like to see something added or you want to let me know of something wrong with this guide, please just PM me on the forum (my login there is also rinichan). but just in case, here's some contacting info (if you really really need to).

Forum ID - rinichan

Char (Windia) - rinichanx

Char (Scania) - Holiness (I won't go on that a lot)

I don't really want to be Emailed about that, so please just keep it to those.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ETC
Here's what I WANT to get done later.

- More of the guide (of course) so please give me some comments with come ideas via PM or whisper

- Another guide on 2nd job advancement (most likely CLERIC since that's what I am)

And also, please don't EDIT this guide that much since I'd like it to be my work. If there are typos, please change them for me, though. Thanks a bunch!

Maple Story Thief guide

Beginner Stat Descriptions There are six stats you can increase when you level up. They are Hit Points,
Mana Points, Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity and Luck.
STR: The amount of damage you do at the beginning for thieves is NOT based on STR. So just put it up SLIGHTLY if you want to become a STR Dagger Thief. Keep it at 4 or 5 if you are other type of Thief.
INT: Your spell damage is based on this. This is USELESS for thieves, only used for Mages. Keep it at 4 or 5.
DEX: This determines your accuracy and avoids ability. You need 25 of this to become a Rogue, your first job advancement. Put it up to 25 ASAP. After that, DEX should be twice your level so that you will have the new equipment.
LUK: This is your biggest stat. It determines your damage. Whatever you don't put into DEX goes into here (unless you're a STR Dagger Thief). Don't care your HP and MP at the beginning, they'll increase on its own and you don't need to give them a boost.

Stat Build - Claw Thief

Stat Build - Claw Thief When you start, you get either 4 STR or 4 INT. One of them could be 5 if you don't want to spend too much time. Keep rolling the dice until that happens or your stats will suffer.
LV10: 25 DEX, 37 LUK
LV15: 30 DEX , 57 LUK
LV20: 40 DEX , 72 LUK
LV25: 50 DEX , 87 LUK
LV30: 60 DEX , 102 LUK
As you can see, DEX should be twice your level, and LUK should have everything else. Put up your LUK by 5 each time for 3 levels, then put up DEX by 5 twice so that you will have enough DEX to upgrade your armour and weapons. For example:

LV21 +5 LUK LV23 +5 LUK LV25 +5 DEX LV27 +5 LUK LV29 +5 DEX
LV22 +5 LUK LV24 +5 DEX LV26 +5 LUK LV28 +5 LUK LV30 +5 DEX

This will give you enough DEX to upgrade your weapons, putting up LUK to increase your maximum damage, so it's best to put that up as fast as you can. You will need 10 less than usual, so just put DEX in at level 49, 50, 59, 60,etc. You only need 90 DEX at level 50, 100 DEX at level 60, etc. The ratio changes from 3 LUK to 2 DEX and becomes 4 LUK to 1 DEX.

Stat Build - LUK Dagger Thief

When you start, you get either 4 STR or 4 INT.

Stat Build - STR Dagger Thief

When you star, get 4 INT, don't worry about the rest of the stats. Keep doing this or your stats will suffer.

LV10: 10 STR, 25 DEX, 31 LUK
LV15: 10 STR, 30 DEX, 51 LUK
LV20: 10 STR, 40 DEX, 66 LUK
LV25: 15 STR, 50 DEX, 76 LUK
LV30: 20 STR, 60 DEX, 86 LUK

You are the only type of thief who requires STR because your dagger has STR requirements, STR does not affect your damage. DEX should be twice your level, check how many STR the next dagger needs and increase that accordingly, put the rest of your stats into LUK and the amount of DEX needed for the next weapon/armour upgrade. After Level 40, your DEX requirement decreases. You will need 10 less than usual, so just put DEX in at level 49, 50, 59, 60, etc. Put up however much STR you need for your next dagger. You only need 90 DEX at level 50, 100 DEX at level 60, etc.

How to Get and Use a Maplestory Private Server

In Maplestory, there are over 5 different default servers which any public user may use. Of course this is going to vary by version and language of the game. These servers are all completely public, in that, Nexon is the owner and manager of all of these servers. The players have very little control of customization of these servers, because they're open publicly and the game company is the owner. GM's are assigned by the owner, not by friends and other characters in the game. In a public server, you have very little amount of control, Nexon Cash is expensive and hard to get, so are mesos, and leveling is much harder than in private Maplestory servers.

Maplestory private servers are privately owned outside of the Nexon company. Nexon does allow for this, as their game client is customizable so long as you have a server to host the customized version of the game on. The owners of these servers are responsible for all of the maintainence, customization, and management of the server. GM's will be assigned by these players, and it's usually much easier to become a GM on a private server than it is on a public server due to less traffic and more new players needing help from a GM like yourself.

These private servers have many different benefits and bonuses. Most of these private servers now have a "warper" which makes it extremely easy to travel. You can simply click the green trade button at the lower left hand corner of your screen and you'll be warped to the free market. At the free market, there normally is another warper who will take you to any town in the game, and in most cases to any boss in the game.

Not only is travel easy, but just about every other aspect of the game is easy on private servers in most cases. Experience rates are set by a multiplier of anywhere to 5x to 10,000x. Leveling gets crazy when on your first kill, you hit level 20. This makes hitting those other jobs a snap. Perhaps you really don't plan to permanently or exclusively play on a private server. A private server is a great place to test classes of characters, items, nx purhcases, and just about anything else in the game since you can obtain it all much faster than in a public Maplestory server.

Maplestory mesos drops are typically much, much higher on these servers as well. The meso drops are mutlipled the same way, anywhere from 5x to 10,000x. It's nice when you're killing green snails that drop several thousands mesos when you need to get something expensive. In fact, almost all expensive items on public servers can be obtained extremely easily on most private servers.

Drop rates are also increased dramatically, however the greatest multiplier I've seen has been 100x. This is great though! Drop rate multipliers greatly increase your chances of finding rare items from monsters, and can be a great money maker later on. I love this because it makes finding rare items a snap, even if you're just looking for a specific item you can use.

Now, on to how to get these private servers. Almost all private servers require version of the game to run. Firstly, download version from this location. Make sure to NOT run the game after installing this, as you don't want the autoupdater to run.

After downloading this patch, it's as easy as searching for the version of private Maplestory you want to run. Simply search Google for private maplestory servers, and check them out. Download their client, and place it in your Maplestory folder and run it!

Good luck and have fun!

Be Good at Maple Story

MapleStory is a free, downloadable MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) that currently has over three(3) million players. With monsters to fight, quests to complete, friends to make, and lots of places to visit, maplestory mesos provides a wealth of challenges. What's more, since the game includes cute characters and plenty of scenery, even the youngest gamer can enjoy playing. While training is often long and tedious, it pays off in the long run if you can stick to it, because the higher your level, the more there is to do. Want to become good at MapleStory? All it takes practice--and a few helpful tips.

Steps

1.Roll a character whose stats fall into the class you're dealing with. Keep in mind these stats are the ones that you dont care about. You want these as low as possible.

•For Thieves that is 4 INT and 4 STR.

•For Warriors, Pirates and Perma-Beginners that is 4 INT and 4 LUK (with a Perma-Beginner the •DEX should be low too).

•For Bowman that is 4 INT and 4 LUK.

•For Magicians that is 4 STR and 4 DEX.

•If you're really, really lazy, a 4/5 or a 5/4 will do, but never a 5/5.

2.Find a good place to train. A good place has a lot of monsters that are at least 3 - 5 levels below you. If your level is below 10, there will not be any monsters with low enough levels, so just train on snails and mushrooms on Maple Island. Due to the recent patches on the game, new, tougher monsters have shown up on Maple Island. If you want to be a Warrior, you may want to train on them.

3.Familiarize yourself with your character. It will take some trial and error to discover you character's attack range, jumping height, etc. Once you become familiar with the basics, try to learn more advanced tricks, such as how to dodge a monster that is chasing you by turning around and jumping at the same time.

4.Customize your controls. You use the mouse and keyboard to navigate MapleStory. While the default keys may be acceptable, you might be able to improve your game by changing them.

5.Join or start a guild. To start a guild you will need a lot of maple story mesos, and you'll have to go to Orbis. If you create a guild, you become the guild master or leader. Then you may invite others, etc. You can also pick a logo of sorts, and distribute different titles to members. Membership in a guild helps you make friends, who you can then easily find and contact. Friends can help you with questions you may have or can go on quests with you. Plus, hey, it's good to have friends.

6.Try doing some quests, as they sometimes give you good, rare items. Even though quests often give you little experience, they are a good break from training all day long.

7.If you're becoming a Magician, you can do it at level 8. Go to Ellinia and travel to the very top to talk to Grendel the Really Old. He will turn you into a Magician. If you're becoming a Thief, you can do it at level 10. Go to Kerning City and find a door with "Fusion Jazz Bar" above it. Go inside there and go down the drain in the toilet on the left. You'll find the Dark Lord there. He will turn you into a Rogue. If you're becoming a Warrior, you can do it at level 10. Go to Perion and go to the Shrine of Warriors which is located at the very top. Talk to "Dances with Balrog" . If you're becoming a Bowman, you can do it at level 10. Go to Henesys and go to Mushroom Park. Then travel to the very right until you come to a house next to Game Park. Go inside and talk to Athena Pierce. She will make you a Bowman.

8.Join a Party Quest when you get to level 10 or level 21. Go to Kerning City or Henesys in Mushroom Park and ask to join a party. If it is your first time, tell them so they can brief you and give you tips. Party questing is a great way to gain experience fast and is also very fun. You can't Party Quest anymore after level 30 in Kerning City, in Henesys it is any level over level 10.

9.Make your second job advancement at level 30. Each class is different in the advancement, so do some research to find out how to go about it.

10.Find another place to train after reaching level 31. You'll benefit from a good place to train until you reach levels 36 - 38, in the newest patch, Vers. 0.46, there is a new haunted house in the new town NLC, this is available to anyone after Halloween.

11.Buy a ticket to Orbis from Ellinia at levels 31~38. When you reach Orbis, check www.hidden-street.net for the location of Jr. Cellions, Jr. Lioners, and Jr. Grupins. They give you a good amount of experience and drop Solid Horns, which are used in the "Exchange Quest," in which you can get 500 experience and some items for every 100 Solid Horns you acquire.

12.Consider doing the Ludibrium Party Quest at level 35. Level 35 is very low for that Party Quest, but if you feel up to it, why not? Don't tell the others it is your first time or you won't get in. Simply read a guide, and complete the quest up to the 8th stage. If you feel comfortable fighting the boss and you have Magic Guard upwards of 700hp, tell your cleric. You can do the Ludibrium Party Quest until level 50.

13.Orbis PQ is another option, and you can do it from level 51-70 with maple story powerleveling. If you don't know how, tell your PQ members to brief you.

14.Make your third job advancement after you reach level 70. You will automatically advance to the class depending on the second job you chose.

Two Curse Eye monsters. Maplestory has more than one thousand different monsters.

Tips

•Search the internet to find out almost anything about MapleStory, including monster stats, item stats, detailed maps, and much more.

•You can buy and sell items with other Maplers at sites such as Basilmarket.com. The trades are organized by server. You can also look up items and monsters and price check items you want to sell, and use their forum.

•sleepywood.net is a good forum site for MapleStory but may not be the best for beginners because you will get flamed (picked on) but for more advanced questions you can go on there or if you want to search for a boss group this is also a good place to look.

•When you talk to non-player characters (NPCs), you can make them instantly finish their talk by clicking the text screen.

•It's OK to die. You will be transported to the nearest town with 50 HP and as much MP as you had when you died. After you make your first job advancement, however, every death will cost you a percentage of your experience, though you cannot be leveled down by this method. Characters with low LUK lose 10%, increasing LUK lowers the exp lost to a minimum of 5%.

•To find out what quests are available for your character's level, open the quest menu (hotkey: Q) and click the tab "Quests Available."

•Always train on monsters a few levels below you. You will have less of a chance of dying and you will gain experience faster because the monsters will be easier to kill.

•When you are in a town, check the potion store for return scrolls so you don't have to travel all the way to that town again. Instead, double click the return scroll to be teleported to the respective town.

•When you are selling your loot from monsters, sell them at a potion shop so you can stock up on potions and return scrolls.

•When given free quest items in huge amounts, fame the person if you can. This shows respect and will get you respect and maybe a fame back.

•Never leech off of your party unless the party master or a majority of the party approves of it. Leeching without their permission will get you a mass defame and a boot from the party.

•Common hotkeys in their default places are the following. Quests Window: Q. Equipment Window: E. Stats Window: S. Skills Window: K. Friends/Party/Guild Window: R. Pickup Items: Z. Sit: X. Chatroom: C. World Map: W.

•Always fight monsters to get the things they drop. You never know when you will encounter people which want to buy the items from you.

•If you're a warrior, killing things like dark stumps or stumps would be good for level 10-13. After that, get a spear (preferably get one before level 11) and you'd have no problem leveling up. At level 20 go to henesys, and kill ribbon pigs (or pig beach but thats crowded) then at level 25 go to Kern PQ. Level 29 or 30 go to Orbis, kill jr or reg sentinels untill level 33. Then go to Ant Tunnel in SleepyWood untill level 38. If you're a one handed sword/axe/mace person then that's defensive, you'll have to kill things that are weaker than you are, like vvery least level. If you're a two handed mac/axe/sword person, a bit less then your level monsters. If you're a spear/pole axe then the best things to kill is 1 level lower or equal level than you. I'll tell about thieves when I'm done my thief.
